President Xi Jinping has met with visiting Australian Prime Minister
Malcolm Turnbull, vowing closer economic ties between the two countries.
Xi said China has always seen Australia as an important partner in
terms of economic cooperation. China is willing to enhance communication
with Australia on significant international and regional issues under
the framework of the G20, APEC and other platforms, to further promote
interconnectivity in the Asia-Pacific region.Turnbull said Xi's visit to Australia in 2014 has greatly improved bilateral ties. He said Australia has confidence in China's economic momentum, and will forge closer cooperation with China in various areas.
